MISS LALA'S REVIEW: LONDON OLYMPIC 2012. MEETING & ALMOST MY COOL WITH RYAN BAILEY & ANTONIO DAVIS! THANK YOU BEATS BY DRE!!

Come on, you know we good together, right!!??

These Olympics have been a great but strange one for me.  As stated in previous posts, I didn't go to any of the games (not at those prices love!!) However, meeting two of the up and comers in the US Team was very much a highlight for me.  Firstly, let me boast, I mean, tell you about meeting the lovely Ryan Bailey lol.  A couple of you may have heard this story already, but I'm telling it again, as folk still keep asking me (shrugs shoulders!) "HOW" and "WHY??" (as if to say such things shouldn't happen to me, feisty!)

Monster Beats By Dre, retail at £169

Anyhoo, big shouts out to my homies My Play and Marvyn Harrison for hooking me up to go to the Beats By Dre party in Shoreditch.  This really was a great event where you got the chance to sample some of the most sort after headphones currently on the market.  The Beats By Dre headphones come in an variety of colours, folds up to be as compact as possible, but the sound from these babies are no joke!! For once you can now believe the hype!! You didn't get any surrounding sounds interrupting the experience of the music coming through the headpones, something that many of us hate, especially while travelling on the tube.  I was fortunate enough to be given a pair in purple, something that I am now thanking the HEAVENS for (God is good!!). *Side note, Play and Marvyn officially hate me for snagging a pair of those bra ha hahah!!* (love ya boys xx)

It became quite apparent that the Beats By Dre team had invited a number of athletes to come to their event.  You had athletes from all over the globe slowly making their way into the event (Trinidad and Tobago and The USA were spotted)  The set up was the usual drinks and canapés, with a photo booth installed in the venue, for those that wanted to take a pictures of themselves wearing the latest Dre Beats product.  This was a great idea, as myself, Play, Marvyn and Amie all scrambled into the booth like 12 year old kids, demanding what colour headphones we were going to pose in.  We all did our best "Zoolander" pose in the both, I managed to "smize" with my eyes (Tyra Banks would be so proud).  Once the photos are taken, you get to choose which one you want to print, but you have to choose a word which best describes the look of the photo.  We chose the word "Cyclops"! Please be aware that the photo we chose has us all using the headphones like a visor across our eyes.  It reminded us of the character in Star Trek, who, up till now, I still call Kunte Kinte (he played Kunte before he was in Star Trek, just so you know).  Clearly, Kunte Kinte was not an appropriate name for the photo, hence the name Cyclops.

Don't be surprised if you see this pic on your local billboards real soon.  Oh yeah!!

So I've now been fed and watered, photo booth was fun, got my headphones and I'm looking to leave. I do a 360 turn to walk to the exit and this 6ft 3inches of loveliness is standing right in front of me. Immediatly my brain is going "God DAMN!!!!" It's the athlete we all know as Ryan Bailey.  I think allthe females (and some of the dudes) in that room all looked very stunned.  Ryan strolled in smiling, cool as you like.  I turned to Mr Play and Marvyn and said "OMG who the hell is that??" You could sense the weirdness from the both of them, as men tend to not know how to answer them when a woman is left dumb struck by another man lol.  Play then urges me to ask him if I can take a photo with him, that's when the 12 year old girl came out of me as I sheepishly said "I can't".

Play wasn't having it and politely tapped Ryan on the shoulder and said "Would you mind taking a photo with my friend!" (altogether now, awwww! lol) Ryan politely said "Of course" and for that split second the photo was taking, in my head, we were ONE!! LMAO!!

Once Play got his photo op in, Ryan headed towards the photobooth, and thats when "IT" happened. He offered to take of his shirt in the the photobooth. Now I know I didnt imagine this, but a small crowd did gather outside the entrance of the photo booth, as we saw what Ryan was "working with!".  Once again, my head starting singing "God Bless America, land of the free and the FINE!".  I think I perved on his finely sculpted form for about 5min, and had to leave, as it became all to much (why don't we have specimens like that in the UK??). Marvyn had enough, told me to put my tongue in my mouth (KMT!) Play was cool actually.  Didn't hate like Marvyn! lol

So that my one time run with sprinter with Ryan Bailey.  A moment I wont forget, EVER!

Meeting Antonio Davis was very breif, saw him in the O2 while on my way to Jamaica house to celebrate Usain Bolt win the 200m.  The young star was on his way to Nandos (chicken is so universal). Admittedly, I know nothing about basketball, but I do know my US popular culture.  If it wasn't for this young mans very famous unibrow, I would not have recognised him at all.  Stopped a young growing lad from eating his chicken, just to get my Olympian snap.  He looked a bit tired, but kindly obliged anyway.  I think the meeting with Ryan made me a bit brave and slightly grabby (please let me have a picture!!)

Me with US basketball player, Antonio Davis

So that was the closes Olympic experience that I had.  Think I done alright.  Didn't get to meet Usain Bolt, but if I did take my lazy self to Puma Yard, that would of happened KMT.  Oh well, maybe another time, another place!
